Using headsets and VoIP
So the excitement of the day centered around the fact both Meg and I finally got headsets for our computers. There's a lot of free computer to computer voice programs so that you can call and talk to some for free ... which is of course fantastic and I strongly recommend.
Unfortunately, Megan's University has hardcore firewalled against voice and video chatting, but there in the minority of networks who that ... or at least to our extent.
So today's long-distance relationship tip is to buy cheap headsets and use one of the free programs listed below to talk (they are called "VoIP"s if u wanna google the term for more understanding or better programs) ... And if anyone knows of any programs that work well, something that they use or something that can fight around a firewall (or any tricks/tips withany of these programs) please leave a message!
The following are in rank of how much I (and I almost daresay we) recommend them...

Jim you should try downloading AIM Triton. It's free (at aim.com), and it has a talk feature. I haven't tried it, but it may be what you're looking for. You are welcome to come over sometime and try to see if it works, if you like. (Jenny has it, too so we could do an in-room test)
Thanks for the tip Kel! Hm, we may have to ... although I am fairly confident since all of the other instant messaging programs talk features dont work, including the latest AIM before Triton, Triton wont work ... although maybe it is designed to bust firewalls. We shall see!
